So I was looking around the other day online and saw mention of someone using an oil pan from a 94 Dakota 318, so I searched it up and found some pictures and it looks like it would be damn close to fitting, just clearing the steering linkage.

DODGE DAKOTA Dorman Oil Pans 264-233

Has anyone used one or have one laying around to mockup? The price is cheap, they're powder coated, and it has the proper front seal area to use the 1 piece magnum gasket.

What do you mean by be careful on shutdown? I assumed a stock oil pan wouldn't have any major issues.

The stock pan has plenty of problems.
The biggest problem I had with Dakota pan was that on shutdown the oil would move forward and empty the oilsump and loose oil pressure. You somehow have to keep the oil in the rear of the pan when your on the brakes.

My neighbor is doing it to his 73 duster that he races in F/stock. Looks like a bunch of work to get it to fit. Right now he is having a centerlink modified to clear the pan. I will tell him about the baffle. Not sure he knows about that.Thanks.

I built a tray that catches the drain back oil and angles back to the sump. Seams to work well.

Any pictures? I was thinking about buying one to try out, I just figured I might have to indent the sump a bit to clear the steering, if that.

I just bent the center link bar on the ends.
My engine is moved back about an inch which helps.
I'll send you a picture maybe hard to see.
Fits on a Challenger with no problem.

Looks like it could be made to fit easily, any side pictures possibly?

It's not hard, just a close fit. It's a a much better pan.
