I'm here
Did any Dodge pickup trucks in the 70's or 80's come with a Dana 60 with a 5 bolt pattern axle?
I know they came with 9.25 with both 5 lug patterns, but Dana 60?

I had an '85 Ramcharger 4x4 that I'm pretty sure had a 5 lug Dana 60 in the rear. (It wasn't the 4.5" bolt pattern though.)

Maybe Internationals as well ?
At some point there were aluminum Dana60 housings used in Vans or such ???? Don’t know the details

I have never seen or heard of a five lug 60 in a truck. The five lug trucks were 9 1/4, 8 1/4, or 8 3/4.... depending on the year and gvwr. I have seen 8 lug 9 1/4 in vans

Don't waste your time with the Jeep axle if you want something strong. They have thin tubes and a lot of them are offset to the passenger side. I've seen Ford Vans with Dana 60's and you can easily get custom axles with 5x4.5 or 5x5.5 lug pattern.

I looked into this once a while back and arrived at the conclusion it was more cost efficient to just buy a Strange S60; you can get any width, gear axle, etc.

After thinking about it, a buddy of mine in Australia got one out of a Ford PU, but I don't remember what year/type but I do think he replaced the axles.

I paid $160 for a heavy duty Dodge Dana 60 out of a truck with 410 gears. I'm paid 350 to have it cut down and ends welded on. He also welded the tubes to the housing and the spring pads... 300 for 35-spline axles.. 125 first spool and 75 for the ends... $50 for new bearings and 175 for gear setup... And I sold the brakes and axles for 40 bucks..
I think I was just under 1200 for mine...

I just checked with my buddy, his D60 came out of a F250 but he did replace the axles.

if I have to cut and replace axles, that would eat too much out of my budget for this project. I have some time as we'll run the 8.25, but eventually, I'll need at least a 8.75

If you are really going roadkill just dump an 8 bolt axle in there. You should be able to get a cheap 15x10 steel wheel with an 8 lug pattern. Stock truck Dana 60 with a sure grip and 4.10s can be found cheap! The last one I picked up was free but it was an open diff.
