Here's a working unit and here are some pics and the numbers off of the ring gear. I see no gear ratio as I read them but I did turn the yoke app. 5+ revolutions to one revolution of the drum. It is located in West Plains, Missouri and it should be worth $800 and i'll put it on a pallet but your paying for the ride. Look at the numbers I found on the gear. The plate to plate dimension is 52". There are two sets of spring perches on it and they are 44" and 36.5" from center to center. There are shock plated welded to the housing as well as ladder bar connections. Someone had this thing set up for some serious straight line. Drums and complete brakes at each end of housing. Long stud on the endof axles also. The numbers are this. 173 4 24 75 DANA 36211 A3R36 48-8. There are 43 teeth on the ring gear. Someone may know what these numbers mean.
Waggin, good question. I walked out and looked. It's held on by two bolts. Pete, is there a formula to divide revolutions of drive shaft by the revolutions of wheel, or vis versa? Seems like I've seen it here before.
Are you interested in trades for the Dana. I have a lot of parts including sharks tooth grilles many other parts or other non mopar items. If interested contact me I am looking for a Dana.
Pete, i'll see if I can look inside the case and count the cogs on the pinion. Oldman, i'm trying to liquidate my parts. Don't need anymore. I had this whole pile up for grabs for $15,000 which included 4 cars and trailer loads of parts but no takers. This method will take more time but i'll come out better.
CORRECTION !! The last numbers that i stated was 48 8 are really 43 8. Meaning there are 43 teeth on the ring and 8 on the pinion. The ratio would be a 5.37 gear. That portion can be changed if you need something else. I've had Eaton Tru Trac units in my 8.75 stuff but some seem to think this is a Trac Lok unit. Hope this corrected info helps someone.
The picture only show one drum but i do have both drums. Brake system is complete but will need new pads and new lines.
Cracked, the width flange to flange is app. 59"-60". By the way i can barely make out the plates on the end of the axles and they are Strange axles.
I've decided I will do some trading on this Dana. I need a GOOD tiller steering 50-70 horse outboard motor for a duck boat i'm building. Tell me what ya have. I'm in West Plains, Missouri. Make me an offer if ya don't like the price.
Don't want to seem like i'm bumping an ad too much so I guess every three or four months aint to bad. This is still for sale so make me an offer. Still mending well over a bursted brain aneurism.
