So after the Proform discussion I decided to give Android another try, so I googled around and found Android-X86

This is not an emulator of something done in "virtual," it is a native OS (allegedly)
Android-x86 - Porting Android to x86
. .....and downloaded both 32 and 64 bit ISO and made a bootable USB stick for each. And got out "the stack" of old Thinkpads. Very glitchy. Unintended reboots. Not at all stable........yet, anyhow

T520 came the closest. Others were T400, T410, T61, Some of the booted to a # command prompt and would go no further. I tried some of the options and so far got nowhere.

But even the T520, one of the "setup" procedures is to log into available wireless. It would sometimes "go," then lock up/ reboot, etc, and YOU STILL HAVE TO deal with "Google play" which is one of my gripes. (Meaning you have to establish an account and sign in to use any of it)

Bear in mind this is not installed, it is running "live" off the USB stick.............
