I assume it's a trim package, but does anyone have any details?
74 based on the stripe and plate on rear.
Ad says Dodge logo on quarters.
Not sure on the advertising hook though, "4 speed and a 2.94", wow that is a neck snapper!

lmao, by '74 there were very few neck snappers. All show not much go.

My neighbor Todd had one. What a pig it was 294's, coupled with an 833 OD. My slant 6 69 Dart had more grunt and speed. I believe the neck breaker was seeing it go buy and doing a double take saying what the hell was that.

Maybe cool today but we scrapped them in the 80's. This was a 73 340 car Todd and I stripped it. Sold the drive line to a Challenger owner.

I suppose it depends if it's a slant or a 318- with a 'teener you MIGHT actually be able to get a speeding ticket with a 2.94 gear and OD...
Love the "Dodge Trucks" banner on an A body ad!

It’s all relative…. that was pretty sporty for 1974.

Did the A833 OD get the 3.09 low 1st gear at least?

What year did the OD 833 come out?

To the best of my knowledge, in 1974 and 75 the Dart Sport Rallye had a 318 with 3.09 first gear, 1.92 second, 1.40 third and 1to1 forth 833 4spd, and a 2.94 rear gear. The OD 833 first appeared in 1975, and yes they had a 3.09 first gear, 1.67 second, 1 to1 third, and a .73 OD forth gear.

The '70's were offering more & more "show" as opposed to "go" because of insurance and fuel mileage. One of the earlier versions was the Duster "Twister". Later came 318 2bbl and /6 Road Runners. But at least customers still had the opportunity of checking off the correct options & packages on the order sheet in '74 which included a 360 and 3.55 gears. Dart & Dart Sport specs

Can't say that I ever saw a "Dart Sport Rallye". Apparently, it wasn't available with a 360.

Package & accessory groups.

Like the 71 Dodge Demon Sizzler. The performance looks of a 340 Demon, but with lesser drivetrain, insurance, and purchase price.

I wouldn't mind having one now. Not a neck snapper but, with the 318, 4 speed O.D. & 2.94 gears, it would probably do 120mph pretty easily. You could always hop-up the 318 a little too!

Wind 3rd tight to 95 shift overdrive and back down to 85 unless you were going down hill with the wind.

The Rallye was a Dart Sport that had everything that a 340 Dart Sport did except it had a 318. I had a 73 Dart Sport Rallye 4-speed and I put dual exhaust on it and recurved the distributor. A friend of mine had a 74 340 Duster with an automatic and he could never beat me.

My friend had a 1974 Dart Sport non valley 360-4 / 727.
It was same power to me as the 72 and 73 340-4 cars I had.
Also worth mentioning is my 1972 rally package 340-727 was a fine running car.
I am sure it was a beast comparison wise to a rally 318-2 car.
B5 blue, Power Bulge hood, rally scoops in fenders, black strobe stripes. Black vinyl top, and black interior, road wheels, dealer A/C 8 3/4 rear with 323:1 sure grip manual disk, manual steering.
As stated above
In 1972-1974 they made rally packages. These packages were appearance and handling. Could be on the lower powered cars. As well as with 340-360 as well
Showy cars that drives well for it's time.

I worked at Dodge in 74. Yeah, I thought the same. We had a grey 318 4 speed come in that I wanted in the worst way. I was driving a 340 4 speed 70 Duster at the time. The car just looked GOOD..Maybe that it was new.

Like the 71 Dodge Demon Sizzler.
Or the Duster "Twister" with a 318 or Slant 225.

The above ad is cool. Cool sells cars.
I used to live a 1/4 mile from a Chevy dealership so saw lots of new cool cars being unloaded and dealer prepped. And the service guys test um out. I saw a ton of nice new cars, performance and drivers all were nice paint runs and crooked stuff. 60 andv70 cars had low quality at times. Don't get me wrong
I am a Mopar guy and had plenty Kool dealer hand outs, sales stuff, dealer order books, service manuals but a hurricane took most of it. But do have some still.
Chrysler did well with marketing. Made up a few framed pics of different. Things. A new slant car was nice when new.

Yeah, The Dealership was on a one way street so when cars were unloaded we had to drive 'um around a block or 2 to get them back on the lot.Allot of tire marks at the first left turn to the upper one way street....Back then Dealerships were much smaller with maybe a total of 20 to 40 new cars and trucks. Not like the mega dealerships of today.
