Like all of us have done my daughter in law was coming back from visiting relations in a town 30 miles away. While coming home my 2.5 year old grandson said something to his mom while they were driving. She looked up in the mirror to see what he wanted. She only took her eyes of the road for a few seconds. On this road there are several gas storage facilities with lots of truck traffic. There were 2 semi's turning into one of the plants in the other lane and a flat bed spraying rig truck was stopped in front of her waiting for the semi's. Since she wasn't concentrating on the road she turned around just in time to hit the brakes. Their surburban did it's job pretty well protecting them. She has a broken bone in her foot, chest brusing and some facial injures nothing to serious. My 4 year grand daughter is fine, her little brother has a broken collar bone from the seat belt and my 2 month old grand daughter is also fine. We feel very fortunate to still have them all. This happened about 4 in the afternoon and we didn't get back home till 11pm. Thank God for seat belts and child/infant seats. Without them I don't think the outcome would have been this good. Luckily we had lots of help taking care of the kids while they were all being examined and treated. The little one was wanting her mom pretty bad since she is breast feeding. We all did the best we could although my left ear caught the worst of it from her crying. Finally I had the nurse bring me some formula to calm her down. Wow, what a night. Praise the Lord!!!!!!
