Defroster Tube Cleaning Q

I've a set of original defroster tubes. They're in great shape but there's corrosion on some of the visible metal portions. Possible to clean some of this off without damaging the hoses?

Probably not worth the effort as the material will probably rip later, and you don’t want to have to attach it again to the top vents. I bought new ones. Two sizes and I needed an adaptor.

Maybe you could stretch them out and spray paint with rust reformer?

Soak 'em Evaporust for an hour and hope they stay together.
