Got the 71 Demon 340 dynod today. Rebuilt motor in states back 09. Done less than 10,000 miles. Have not much to go on. Has a mild came, 670 Holley Street Avenger vac sec, bit of head work with factory manifolds & a 21/2 exhaust with 3.23 rear end.
325 FWHP.
Seems more but maybe I'm bias.

325 at the wheels? Nice ride. Should be enjoyable I would think.

325 hp at the flywheel would be just a little bit warmer than a stock 71. 71's were rated at 275hp but were closer to 300/310hp.

Which means he will likely have less than 300hp at the wheels. His is flywheel hp. Not rwhp. Should still be plenty of fun.

I see it now. FWHP. WHen I read WHP I thought he meant chassis dyno and I was pretty damn impressed. Like you said he'll still have a blast with it.

Heck it took my 70' 340 Swinger 412 rwh and 3.55's to get that close in the 11's. Plus some little slicks.

Don't want to hijack, but what is your combo?

69 dart 440, 727

Mine does it with street tires and 4.56's. (I have a GVOD so 60mph is 2500RPM)

So, you put 10,000 miles on it, pulled it back OUT of the car and had it put on the dyno? Is that correct? Just trying to clarify, since you mention the exhaust and gear ratio
