Did you install your own Early A top?

Have a question for anyone that installed their own top. On my 64 Valiant the rear bow above the rear window...The tack strip that comes with the kits sold online is about 1/2 the thickness as the original (about 1/2 inch thick), and the original was was held on by long thick staples. What did you do/use to replace it?

What did you do/use to replace it?

I used expanded 1/2" PVC cut to fit and glued in. (home depot Trim section.) it's white but no one cares after it's stapled. or you could get Black ABS expanded sheet 1/2" thick here is the Black Expanded 1/2" ABS cut and ready for Bending to tack strips.
