I need to replace the axel bearings and seals on the 8.25 rear on my 70 Duster. I understand that the axles are held in with C clips so I have to remove the diffential cover to get the C clips off and the axel's out. I'm having a hard time sourcing replacement gaskets to get the job done.
Also the part numbers for the axle bearing and seal would be helpful too.
Thanks

Chrysler part numbers:
2852922 gasket
3744495 axle bearing
2931875 axle seal
Take these oem numbers to your local parts store and they can interchange them to the brand they stock. They may have to order some of them or you can purchase the Chrysler numbers from eBay.

Alot of the newer 8 1/4 rears were just rtv, no gasket from the factory.

Fel pro makes a gasket for that, bought many of them.
Have a couple on the shelf in the garage. Rock auto had a deal on them a couple of years ago and I have several 8-1/4s, and prefer a gasket for any application where one is available vs RTV. I only use RTV as a supplement and very minimal at that.

I'm trying the Lubelocker. I need to fix a leaky axel seal for now, but eventually once I have more time I'm going to add Suregrip and some gear so that will come in handy.
