Do We Have a Top End Oiling Problem Here?

You need shafts with correctly oriented oiling holes with nanner grooves. I've said nanner grooves so much now, I'm tired of it. Frig it. Either you're gonna listen or not. I don't care anymore. It's not my car and it's not my engine. If it tears all to pieces, it's yours. Have fun.
 
Same here. There's different variations of solid lifter shafts AND hydraulic. So who tf knows what's what....

Take a look at these. They sure don't look like the ones the OP is trying to run. Look at the placement of the oil holes and the bolt holes. 4 pages of discussion and the correct answer was posted in post #2 and a few times there after. [FOR SALE] - New Hughes ,# 1600s Rocker Shafts

Do you oil pressure through the lifters, pushrod and adjusters?
If so, it seems the oil hole in the shaft might be better pointed towards the springs?
The cylinder heads have a dedicated passage to each side of the rocker shafts that deliver oil from a camshaft bearing. Since I turned the shafts around the other way, the oil holes are now toward the springs.

Being the fact I'm in Mexico, the oil holes are now basically pointed in the right direction now, and the bronze bushings should cut down on friction, I'll just run 'em like they are for now.

I was asking if oil runs though the lifters to the pushrods and through your adjusters.
Most all lifters have the oil passage and your pushrods also do.

Do the adjusters have oil holes?
 

If you turned the rocker around and the flow of oil to the rockers increased, this is because there is a different hole size in the shaft between the #2 and #4 bolt holes in the shaft that is allowing more oil to flow up past the bolt and into the shaft. The difference is small maybe 0.02". The mark on the shaft is the key to the orientation. Pointing the oiling holes towards the springs gets the oil closer to the load bearing area. The groove in the bushing from Rocker Arms Unlimited will get some oil around to the other side for the pushrod. Later shafts had a second hole for pushrod oiling and moved the hole on the springs side closer to the bottom of the shaft in the load area.

I found one of those older shafts in my shaft box and compared it to the newer 273 shaft to show some of the differences. Look at the difference in where the bolt holes are located versus the oiling hole. The newer shaft with the banana grooves has the oiling hole closer to bottom of the shaft ~ the #7 position on the clock. Bolt holes are about 90degrees apart.
