Well I'm back! I sold both my 1974 swinger and my 1973 dart sport 340 "convertriple" almost 10 years ago. I have missed those cars tremendously so I started poking around looking for something to fill the hole. It started when I scored a sweet 408 stroker on craigslist.

This is a Hughes engines build that consists of:
4" mopar cast crank
eagle I beam rods
forged pistons
Comp cams hydraulic camshaft .545" lift, duration- 241 intake 247 exhasut @ .050"
Edelbrock 6017 heads stage 2 ported by hughes.

Original owner said he had it built 10 years ago and only started really running it 2 years ago claimed less than 50 passes and under 1000 miles. Supposedly it pushed his 3400lb duster 12.7 second et.s at bandimere (5280 ft in elevation)

Well.... Naturally I needed a car now lol..

So I found this little beauty!

Its a 1973 dart sport with factory moon roof and folding rear seat. Its a numbers matching 6 cylinder car completely original other than a brand new vinyl top! It needs a little work but nothing to bad. The only rust is supposedly the drivers side rear quarter. appears to be pretty nice but the buckets will need recovered and carpet/ door panels need some work.

I'm waiting for the car to be shipped to me so I only have the pics from the seller. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Agreed, change the motor, tranny, and rear end and done.
Lol I'd like to maybe throw a paint job on it back to the original color at least . I'm looking for a 727 to rebuild now and I purchased an a body 8 3/4 housing already. Just need to pick it up next week and get a center section for it.

Oh I'm sure you'll find a crap ton of other stuff you want to change like maybe the brakes LOL it was just a fun idea I'm sure you're going to want to change plenty.

Car was delivered a few weeks ago and I was really happy with the condition. It's scary buying a car off pictures lol. The sunroof doesn't like to close so I'll have to address that. It runs and drives great which is going to make tearing that slant 6 out. The paint is obviously shot but i polished it up a remove the oxidation. I was tired of turning into a cheeto when I touched the car lol.

Nice car i love it. It reminds me of the one they did in mopar muscle magazine back in the day!

Well the auto body department at my local community college is going to replace my quarter panels and paint the dart this school year! Pretty excited! So the teardown begins

Still having major issues with the sunroof.. the gear is trashed as well as the guide that keeps the cables in contact with the gear.. so I'm on the hunt for good parts.

While the bodywork is being done I'm tearing into the sunroof restoration. Here are some pics for those that are curious about the inner workings. I've done too the conclusion that the cables can be sourced from a certain year vw super beetle. The seals I think might be the same as well. The drive gear parts and cable guide plate are impossible to find so I'm having 6 sets machined new from steel and case hardened.

Quarter panels are almost done and ready for paint. I also got my new sunroof gear and guide plate sets machined. They work great but alignment is all but impossible while the sunroof assembly isn't in the car.

Getting the Ebay dual snorkel scoop fit. A lot of work needed to make the scoop decent but it was cheap.

First color is on! Should be close to done by the end of the week.

The scoop will be difficult. The one I put on took a lot of time. I had to file the tabs down on the underside carefully

Coming along nicely! I remember trying to buy that Dart Sport 10-15 years ago when the paint was still nice. Glad to see it went to a good home, keep up the great progress!

It's cool you have a little history with the car. I found it for sale on craigslist in Reno. The paint was really oxidized but cleaned up decent. Both rear quarters had rust and the drivers side had some repair done long ago because the paint didn't match perfect.

Masking removed. Paint looks great but the camera isn't picking it up.
