Universal .. Seriously ?

I bought these and .. dam if I can find 3 holes that line up properly. I can get 2 holes and the edge of a 3rd tab.
Did our Mother come up with a 'special' hole pattern on a 70 Duster... WTF?

Dang looks like I'm going to have start collecting those from the wrecking yard

Al,
Are you saying drill the headlight bucket. I'm not sure there is enough 'meat' there.
Guess I could cut one side of the hole that 'almost' makes it and add a washer but I had doing **** half-assed.

On top of this one ... I can't even count the number of 'hacks' I'm fixing on this car. The headlamps were 'floating around' in the bucket with broken ring tabs, one connector was cut off, wires were spliced... what a mess.

Was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem with the Dorman rings.

Dana,
Do it.... find the good ones and post some for sale on here... lol

The first thing I would do is start a wanted thread. They were probably pretty standard for many years.

These are not going to work out .. will post a WANTED ad.

Save the trouble and don't buy the Dorman 'universal' rings.
These are Going back .........

I drilled the spot weld off the tabs not needed and re-welded the tab where it needed to go. That's how I got mine to work.
