do any of you guys have any idea why my collectors have little spikes in side of them? perforated maybe, not sure how to describe it? the engine is a well built 366,also it is very quiet when running,sounds weird too,thanks for any help guys !!!

If they are what I think they are....
they are "muffler" inserts to meet sound rules without having to put on real mufflers. They are horribly inefficient, real power killers.
I would get rid of them and get some real mufflers if you have to run them.
