Hi folks,

today I removed and disassembled my Midland 7'' dual diaphragm brake booster: it is quite rusty inside, the valve may be leaking somewhere as I have absolutely no booster effect, and rubber parts start to crack on the edges.
I found a booster repair kit at Classic Industries, but my core may be too damaged for it... and I'm expecting to pay around USD400 with shipping and customs: so I'd rather not ruin my rebuild kit with a rusty core!

My car is a 10''drum / 10''drum power brake 70 318 Duster, is there any replacement part that I could use? Maybe not direct fit, but I can adjust the rods length, etc. I have read on another thread that maybe a 79 Volare brake booster could work?

Would this one from Summit work? the right stuff!

(I already ordered new drums, new shoes and hardware, hoses, and I don't want to go to disc conversion.)

Thanks for your comments and suggestions:thankyou:: today I have all my parts ultrasonic cleaned (I do have a big ultrasonic cleaner at work), I think I'm gonna try to save the core parts, and order the rebuild kit.
I had a close look at all the internal parts: my motto is that "nothing goes to trash". If the metallic parts are not too pitted, then I will send them for a re-plating before a final paint: I'd like to keep as many original parts as possible, and I'm a do-it-yourselfer...

I need to check also if some of my suppliers may be able to reproduce the rubber diaphragms: this is one benefit from working in the industry

@French demon did some booster work a year or two back. I think he found a replacement kit.

Yes, it was a generic booster/MC combo. Found on Ebay. Not expensive and efficient.
The MC looks like a GM one, but it makes the job.
The sticker is homemade.
