Ok... So when I was a 16 / 17 year old, I could tear apart whatever needed fixed on my Demon and have it back together in time to pick up my girlfriend and hit the parties... Now I'm slow, sore and stupid I guess, at age 54.
I'm trying to remove the drivers side fender on my 72 Demon...like I said, back in the day, ZERO PROBLEMS.. but now, I can't get the damn thing off. I'm taking stuff off that I probably don't need to, and certainly don't remember going through so much JUST TO REMOVE A FENDER....lol
Help..?? ( my girlfriend is laughing at me )
P.S. I have a 72 body service manual, and I'm still at a loss..
Big Thanks in advace..!

There is a stud that goes down through the cowl with a nut on it. You have to access that by removing the inner splash shield. Did you remove that nut?

Inner splash shield..? That may be the one I removed by opening the door... by the door hinge..?

Yes, there are 4 bolts that hold the splash shield on, they are usually under the undercoating and you have to scrape that off if it is undercoated. Also the nut he is talking about is behind the rubber shield that you can pull off, it has a hole in it but it is much easier if you just pull it off completely...

Maybe you got them all......There is adhesive (seam sealer) under the fender mounting strip where it attaches to the inner fender so maybe it's stuck. The only fastener that isn't obvious is the stud that points straight down from the top. It is accessible by either removing the splash shield, or by opening the door.

When I was 20 or so I had the same task to remove replace front fenders on my dart sport. I too found myself scratching my head a few times. Sometimes left the task for another day. To gather my thoughts and have a fresh approach. It helped some.

Yep, today is a new day, and I've messed with it some.. I don't remember having to all those years ago, but I'm going to remove the bumper and headlight assembly to see what I'm missing.. I think I have everything else loose..
