I need to remove the side pop-out latches (I will be removing all the glass too) on my 73 Duster. Do I need to remove the glass weatherstripping first to do this? I have removed ALL of the interior trim; headliner etc. & have good access to the side glass. Without tearing into this too far, I was wondering how to go about removing the assemblies. I am replacing all the weatherstripping when I repaint the car, so I don't mind damaging the old ones. I thought it was going to be a lot simpler than it appears, but it looks more involved that I thought. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Under the weather strip there is 4 screws 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Then in the back of the frame there is a large screw from the side. Once these are all out the window will slide front with some wiggling.

Well, I removed both side pop-out glass assemblies on my 73 Duster, no problems there, but found the latch I need (passenger side) is rivetted to the glass frame. I really only need the piece that attaches to the glass itself. The chrome "button" that screws on from the outside into the interior side of the latch, which in turn is held on to the window frame via a roll pin. Those two pieces are all I need. I'd hate to buy a whole assembly if I don't have too. Any advice?
