Great question- I bought them and took TTI's word that they were not too loud. Didn't install them yet. I curios about the sound also.

If quiet is what you are looking for than the super turbo muffler is your choice. I had them with my TTI kit and returned them for being TOO QUIET ! Ended up with dyno-max ultra flow welded mufflers, Much better sound to me ...

I'm getting tti headers and exhaust for my Polara and was wondering the same thing. Feel better hearing about the sound. My glasspacks end at the axle and I don't love the drone one bit. Look forward to getting and installing the exhaust this spring.

We have Dynomax 2" super turbo mufflers on our slant 6 and we love them.

They sound great/quiet and perform well....

They may be a little louder than what you're looking for, but I put a 3" TTI X-pipe and Dynomax UltraFlo mufflers on my race car and it picked up a little bit! I figure the X-pipe helped and the mufflers didn't hurt. I also get compliments on the sound at the race track. The "X, or an "H", may also help tone the sound down a bit.

I'm running TTI 2 1/2" and H-pipe with Dynomax mufflers. Sounds great, definitely not quiet but not stupid loud either. Sweet song at 2700 rpm on the highway.

Funny you say that, I thought my car felt different when I put the TTI kit in with the super turbo mufflers. Seemed like it lost some pep. After a little bit of driving and not liking the Quiet sound I called dyno-max and swapped out the super turbo's for the ultra flow mufflers. Looks like I wasn't crazy, the car was much faster with the ultra flows. Car was definitely restricted with the super turbo's , now it has it's pep back ! And Everyone asks about the exhaust 'cause they love the sound !

You had me excited with your post. I was running bullet mufflers on the street. Sounded great but a little loud. Just put on a set of dynomax center outlets straight thru and I'm disappointed. Very quiet but definatly took the snap out of the motor.

That's strange! I'm under the impression that most straight-through mufflers would be the least restrictive and that the UltraFlos are among the best flowing ones out there. But not all mufflers are created equal. I'm curious what brand bullet mufflers you were using. Perhaps the UltraFlos were actually less restrictive and changed the carb calibration requirements because of less back pressure? Coincidently, I'm putting a set of DynoMax bullets on another car I'm working on to save weight and provide more room around the center section & driveshaft. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to do back-to-back tests. But I wouldn't do it if I expected a performance loss.

Try some jet changes to see if it picks it back up. Maybe 2 numbers all around. If it gets worse, go 2 leaner from the baseline.

I've had them on my 70 Duster 318, 4V, Hedman headers, Edelbrock cam for 6 years now and I'm very happy with them. Good sound with full 2.5" exhaust. I'm not really into loud.

I've installed no less than 14 sets of TTI's with their dynomax super turbo's and they sound great. These were installed on cars from stock internal 318's to 472 Hemi's and all in between. Last set was on a 79 Chrysler 300 with a stock E-58 360. Good rumble at idle and at cruise with not too much drone. I have a video of a stock Poly 318 with their headers and exhaust but can't get it to load. I will keep trying.
    Didn't work ^^^^ Rats !

    I'm going to give jetting a try, what about timing? I'm at 34 now. Jets are 81 & 83 on a 950HP

It's hard to predict the best settings. But jetting up 2, and if that is worse, try down 2 numbers from what you have, should help you "feel" if it helps restore the power you had before. Although the track would be best.

I have a pair of TTIs dynomaxes in full 3 inch on a 425hp, 360. Theyre 15 yrs old now. no rust. Like poster #7 says. When I put the Gear Vendor in, I had to lose the H-pipe. Lost some torque on that. Took a lot of fooling around with jets and timing to get some/most of it back.
-I used to take the 360 out every fall, and put a stock C/R, 1973, 318-4v,A/T, into it for the winter. Thats full 3 inch duals with H-pipe. Man that 318 sounded good. Sometimes I think about putting it back in......Problynot.

I love the dynomax super turbos. Sound nice at idle, no drone at cruise and really nice at wide open throttle.
