Hey @Swinger 340! We're transplants to Rome. Moved here 5 years ago. We do some cruise-ins and we put our car in "Cars on Broad" / Fiddlin' Fest 3 or 4 years ago. Mostly we just cruise around town.

I haven't heard of "Max" but I stopped and talked to "Mopar Frank" in Summerville. The dude has a lot of Mopar cars and parts but he's very proud of them. I tried to buy a 904 from him but he wouldn't come off of $350 and I would have rebuilt it like the one I ended up getting from FABO member Roy (RIP) SGBARRACUDA.

PM me if you ever get to town. Always good meeting another FABO member.

Re the OP question, I see the opposite at car shows (any since Covid?). Another Camaro w/ SBC and same blingy valve-cover and Edelbrock 4 bbl under every other hood draws little interest. A less common body like an early-A or AMC draws a crowd, and a restored slant-six under the hood draws as much interest as a modern Hemi or LS resto-mod.

I like my 66 but I like the 64's best. I like 64 B Bodies best as well. Must be something about those 64's.

I just stumbled onto this thread......glad I did.
You guys should bring your cars to Australia - the A body cars are loved here. I reckon 80% of cars at Chrysler/Mopar events are A bodies. Mainly because that's what we "got" here.

Second Sunday of next month you should come to the North Georgia Mopar Club's southside meet at the Bent Axle Grille in Gray. Be good to meet yall.

I have had my 65 dart at a couple of shows this year. Each time I hear people talking about my car. They all ask what it is and have been very happy to see something different. I love these cars. I own 2 65’s for a reason.

When I first got my 63 Signet convertible done back in the nineties and took it to a few shows, I got Garlits' Choice trophy at Mopars at Big Daddy's, and got second overall out of 170 cars in Saturday's participant judging (no classes that year, just first through fiftieth or so place). Only got beat out by a well restored Hemi Cuda. I'd say it got respect.

On the other hand, I got questions like, "Why did you remove your windshield wiper motor?" Hint: it's under the dash where it belongs. LOL

Patina gets attention. I always try and park next to late model Vettes. Pisses the owners off.

I love my 65 Dart. Just sold it but lots of great memories. It's leaving California for the first time headed to Minnesota with its new owner.

Dang.nice one. We can't keep them forever and sometime it's time for a change. I have 2 Darts and really don't want to sell either one but I would like a 64 B body Dodge before I get old enough they take my license away. Sometimes it's good to pass your rides onto someone else to enjoy.

I go to 1 maybe 2 car shows a year. I just went to my first show this year 2 weeks ago. An exotic, classic, muscle car show held at a mansion. Was a very different show. The exotic cats were parked all around the frt of the mansion, classics were on the side and the muscle cars were in the rear. The exotics outnumber the muscle cars by at least 3-1. The most area for traffic walking around was still in the muscle car area. The mopar were outnumbered at least 4-1 by GM products. There were 2 69 camera’s that were pace cars and a 69 Firebird. All 3 were damn nice. But the best of muscle cars went to a 70 TA Challenger. I had the only early A body there and it got plenty of attention. I don’t raise my hood up all the way because I like seeing my hood scoop so I use a 12” rod to hold hood open. It’s amazing how many people bent down to see under the hood. But it’s even more amazing how many check out the interior. I usually sit behind my car after I do my walk around. I only spend time looking at cars that I know the owner did his work. I don’t get overly excited by how much someone can spend by having their car done. The neatest part of my day was this 14 year old boy who came over and spent 10 minutes looking over my car. Then when he walked around the back I struck up a conversation and found he was interested in old mopars. He said he had no interest in the exotic cars. As he looked in the drivers window i ask him if he wanted to sit in the drivers seat. He couldn’t wait to crawl in. I used to do the same thing with my C3 corvette. I’m sure it made his day And believe me he made mine. That’s all that matters. I don’t worry about what anyone else says as they pass my little ole 66 Dart.

That's what this hobby is all about!!!

I took the wife and grandson to a farm today to buy a pumpkin, then drove around town, stopped at Walmart and a convenience store. A girl working at the farm took a picture of my car, a husband and wife stopped me at Walmart to talk and four guys stopped to look and talk at the convenience store. It's great having an early A.
