I wanted to share some info on Early A body exhaust. Attached are some pict's of my 65 dart with a 360 with X heads. Check the clearance with 2 1/8 dump, 98 /02 durango exhaust manifolds.

I just installed Spitfires, on my 65, Install was easy. Exhaust will be fun with the torsion bars in the way. Do these manifolds have the same exhaust exit location as stock 273 manifolds?

They dump just above the T bars. With a good mandrel should be no problem to use 2 1/4" exhaust tubes. I ll post some pix's from the bottom tomorrow. I shortened the steering for the corvair steering modified K frame I have listed. I will use a double d fitting to a short shaft and u joint to the spline it will clear. The mounts are from Schumacher Creative Services in Seattle WA. Check the web site there is no part number in the catalog.

I guess the question still remains......will the stock steering column, coupler, and manual box work with those Durango manifolds? Also, do you need to do anything to the trans dipstick tube or the 90 degree oil filter?

I could tell you everything. But then it would stop and take the fun out of the sport. You do need a remote filter and I have modified the shaft prior when I had my 440 in it.

No. Then again not all 273 manifolds exit in the same location.
I've read that the right side manifold heats the floor below the heater case to the point of smelling the jute backing on the carpet cooking. I'll find out too eventually.
