Facts for 65 Dart!
Ulf. I see on your post that the 65 Dart had 22 pounds of plastics. I wonder how that compares with the cars today? Thanks for posting this.....interesting. Not to far to the Nationals....will be attending this year with 65 Dartman. sgrip65
Cool info, thanks!
27 lbs of lead..Where? And almost 1.5 gallons of paint/coating.
I would think you find that lead on the aft part of the car....where the roof meet the quarter and don't forget the battery! Paint/coating....lots and lots of body sealer on the floors, trunk and inner fenders....it all ads up and was that wet or dry weight on the paint....and this day and age, you might have lost a bit of steel weight due to tin worm activity....but I am sure it is more than offset by rat turds and nesting.
I can certainly and recently vouch for THAT!
157#'s of fluids? That seams a bit high doesn't it? Gas weighs about 6# per gallon. 18 gallon tank? A 50/50 mix of anti freeze weighs about 9.33# per gallon. 4 gallons? 10W30 motor oil weighs about 1.6# per qt or 6.4# per gallon. 80W90 gear oil weighs about 1.75# per qt. or 7#per gallon. Dot 3 weighs about 2# qt. Add in the battery acid and washer fluid and I guess it is plausible.
ah yes, the battery....Doh! The bucket seats weight a ton.....
