I will be putting a post ‘67 225 slant and and a ‘72 model 904 (the sliding yoke style) in my ‘64 Barracuda (originally a V8 car). Will ‘67-‘72 style motor mount brackets fit in this combination? I read somewhere that doing so technically fits but, on a manual transmission, it pushes the engine or bell housing into the Z bar and causes clutch action problems. Will doing this in an automatic car push the transmission back too far as to touch the firewall/transmission tunnel or interfere with the fit or travel of the driveshaft and/or yoke? Thanks!

No.
You need to use the '66 and earlier motor mount brackets and insulators. '67 and later were designed for an entirely different style K frame.
'66 and earlier used the same K frame whether it was a slant 6 or a V8 car.
You will also need the early A slant oil pan and pickup on the late motor.

You need a pair of '62-'66 Slant-6 motor mount brackets for this install.

So far, the early mount brackets seem to be alluding me but post ‘67 mounts seem to be everywhere. It’s not rare until you need it and can’t find it. Because of the change in the end of the crankshaft, buying a ‘66 or older parts car just to get everything at once, doesn’t do it, either. Fortunately, I am just planning ahead so they are not holding up the project. Maybe famine will change to feast on the local “marketplace” any time now? Thanks for the clarification. Now I can be sure of what I need.

I have a set I can take some pictures of if that will help, but they are not for sale. This stuff is gettin hard to find now.

I believe this photo covers it? The newer passengers side bracket looks as if it might work with some modifications but the driver’s side really looks as if it would be pushing the engine back considerably. It’s too bad they changed them because it makes life harder 60 years on. Hopefully I can luck into a set before I really need them.

Yeah. The ones on the bottom. I've seen some of the 67 and up use the exact same passenger mount bracket as the early ones. But yeah, the bottom ones are what you need. I have probably three sets, but I'm sorry, I'm holding on to them. I never thought this stuff would be this hard to find. I looked on ebay tonight for you too and didn't see any.

So, would the ‘67 up bracket be “modify-able”? As in, cut the upper rear back portion out (inside the yellow dotted line), straighten out the two sides (the green lines), then weld some thick stock back onto the area that was cut out?

No, the biscuit orientation is different, so is the angle/offset. If You can modify the wrong one, You can just as well build the right one from scratch.
