Finally had a chance this weekend to play with the cars. I've had this Ede 500 AVS2 for awhile, so I popped it on. It replaced a regular Ede 500.
After starting it I'm like holy s*** what the hell is wrong with this thing. It idled rough and sounded like crap, so I turned it off. After further inspection I forgot to put the plug in the back of the carb. Oops after going through the parts bin and finding a plug for it fired it up. After adjusting the air fuel, and the idle I took it out for a spin. First impression is that the car runs much better with this carb. Seem like it had much more acceleration on the bottom and the top. A little bit more tuning will be necessary, but for right out of the box this thing runs very well. The motor has a shaved cylinder head with bigger valves, Erson cam, Mopar electronic ignition, Clifford water cooled intake with headers. Factory Hurst 4 speed with a 355 gear. Fun little runner.

I installed a 800 AVS on my 472 Hemi. And as you said it needed little adjustment out of the box.
I was very impressed with how well it runs.I don't use a choke and 2 pumps it starts right up and idles on a cold engine. Much smoother and great throttle response.
I think the 500 will work well on my stock 318 with headers and duals.I plan on using one to replace the 600 AFB.

I replaced a 1406 600 Edelbrock on my 360 69 Dart with a 1906 650 AVS2 Edelbrock. I agree what a difference. Throttle response , acceleration and power is noticeably better.

Nice,
I have a 650 AVS2 sitting in a box ready to go into my 360 car. :)

I have the AVS2 500 in my truck. I'm still working on other issues with the build, but after I got the timing and carb adjustments fiddled with properly it ran nicely. After I sort out my other problems, we'll see what this carb will do.
