Which direction faces up towards the floor board? Or does it not matter? It's the bracket from the main cable to the intermediate cable. Thanks.

Does not matter. Once there is tension on it the cable will stay in.
I always put them solid side up like the factory so water and crap drops out. JMO

That was my thoughts also. Flat side up so it doesn't hold dirt and crap. Thanks for the input. Never hurts to ask first.
