Ok. So I am ready to tackle the engine bay wiring harness that was in a box ,in the trunk when I got the car. Spread the harness out on the floor and have most of it figured out. But I have a few questions, Immediately Off the firewall connection there is a large main harness and and small one ( see pics ) what / where does the small harness go to ? Does anyone have good pics of the wiring harness in the engine bay ? thanks
What will help you is a wiring diagram from www.mymopar.com just pic your year and car and download under tools. What year and car do you have?
There are 3 harnesses. Wiper motor, engine ( coil, oil pressure, water temp and alt) and front light harness( ballast resister, brake dist block, starter relay, headlights, turns, and horn. Your pictures are difficult to see, but look typical after hacking.
it sounds like the small section I am talking about is the ā engine ā section. Coil eng temp oil psi and alt. I will be using a aftermarket three gauge set up so I am not to concerned with the idiot lights . Which is the coil , and alt wire ? thanks Which do I need to set up a MSD style ign box ?
I have a newer harness for the Mopar electronic dist, it's plug and play, different ballast, voltage reg and square back alt. It's off a newer DART. The picture that your hand is in, you were holding the alt wires. Down on the floor to the right, two eyelets, coil, I think. Mine is blue pos, blk/yel tracer neg. My '69 sm is saying blk pos, gy neg for coil. I don't know anything about your MSD.
Thanks!!! I will probably lay the harness in the car and get started piece by piece. Would you happen to have any detailed pics of your engine bay / wiring ? thanks
I have taken some picture's, but understand that my engine harness is different and alot of this runs together. Don't know that it will help you much. Plus you have a big block. Also, your wiper motor could be different, if so, it has it'sown harness that goes over to the firewall connections.
