I did a search and not finding what I'm looking for.
casting is. 11/17/69.
2780930-340-8

I have a couple of blocks to work with and it would be a waste to use this one for what I have in mind. This belongs in a car that is more along the lines of being stock. But I need to know exactly what it is to determine value. Its just the block, main caps and crank.

It's a late 69 casting for a 70 car. There should also be a vin # on it on the oil pan rail.

Oops, meant to include that.
0B61565 stamped at the pan rail.

Can't tell if the first is number or letter

I don't think it's anything special, other than its a 340.

Can you get a clear photo if the numbers on the VIN pad please?

Sure, but I have no way to post it here.

The numbers I posted are correct, very easy to read on the block.

Casting # is 340 used from 68-73. Casting date is for 70 year vehicle. TA blocks have casting #3577130. As above nothing special.

. I know all I need to about it. Thanks.

Ok.

But if you are planning on selling it, I track 1970 Hamtramck (0B) cars & their owners.

Several of them are hoping their original blocks surface, so that is why I asked.
