Trying to find best paint to paint my 70 340 street hemi orange. Would like to mix and spray.Wanted to get as close to original paint as possible and most durable.Heard por15 is good but not close in color a little brown looking.Eastwood or other brands? Any Ideas? Thanks Rick.

Just go to your local paint supply warehouse and they will have the formula to mix what you need up...
I've found that the oranges for the street and race hemi to be a bit to the yellow side for my tastes,so I just shoot them EV2...the same color as your car..

You can get them to tint the factory orig color to your liking while your there.
 
this guy is supposed to sell the closest to original colors..

Does anyone know of a good primer for cast iron? It would seem like with any engine paint, it would be good to have some kind of primer (self-etching?) to seal up the metal.
 
the purists say no primer. i use epoxy primer on my motors..

the valve covers and intake are the older mopar spray paint. way too pale compared to the original street hemi orange..

i used the utech 3.1 high solids single stage paint. code 5067DH. while the color will fool most it was way too much red in it if you want it as close to original as possible looking IMHO...
