I'm building a full turbo street 6 cylinder and I;'d prefer to use a motor plate setup.

My engine is a Hemi 265 so it's upright but I'd like to know if anyone runs a /6 with a front and mid plate on street?

There are so many opinions about whether it's ok or not.

    Let me know guys.

    Thanks,

    Brett

Stan aka Hyperpak was building plates for his Colt with a /6 in it, you might contact him on this site.

Yeah, but Stan's Colt is a full on drag car.
OP was asking about motor plates in a street application.

I don't know if a "street" application is going to warrant it... That's usually a concern under heavy drag strip traction...

All the ones I have seen sandwich between the water pump and block. This would introduce pulley alignment issues on a street application, but certainly not insurmountable.

I'm using a remote water pump. A Davies Craig.

From what I've read it should be front plate, mid plate and poly/rubber trans mount

There reason is I have a custom tubular coil over suspension and the mounts for the hemi 265 as an upright are not great. I already tore a stock one ages ago and they only have a two bolt mount.

Here's Stan's build. He's starting the motor plate mockup with cardboard on this page.

      1972 Dodge Colt

Although it is a tube chassis car, I'm sure you can get some ideas.

      Just woke up....
      Just kidding.
I do run a steel block plate on my Lakewood bellhousing.
      It's .145 thick.
I have a front plate that is .250 aluminum.
But as badvert65 said, it's a race car, not street use.
I don't know the OP's application but for a street car I would just use solid steel engine mounts.
      Even a stout street car.
