They did a multi level 302 VS 305 build ended up at 460 ish hp for both, they said people complained they left out the 318 don't know if they'll end up takeing the 318 that far.Pretty low bar but I guess it's a budget type build
Not bad NA and just bolt on's. We'll see how far they go and how they do it.400hp is a nominal 1.25 hp/ci.
Meh.
It's not just "bolt ons" they are boring/honing .030 and replacing the pistons with ICON forged pistonsNot bad NA and just bolt on's. We'll see how far they go and how they do it.
I hope the do it in stages between stock to 400 or whatever hp, for most 318'ers 250-350 hp is where most will end up. But be cool if ultimately they wind it out to 7 grand like the 302 and 305.Not bad NA and just bolt on's. We'll see how far they go and how they do it.
And there isn't anything wrong with a 350 horse small block under the hood of our old cars.I hope the do it in stages between stock to 400 or whatever hp, for most 318'ers 250-350 hp is where most will end up. But be cool if ultimately they wind it out to 7 grand like the 302 and 305.
I see they have heads with the AIR ports in them. 302's may be? It will be interesting what heads they use throughout the builds. The rebuilding this is just stock parts with domed slugs and a cam upgrade. The cylinder head choice escapes me at the moment but of course, that’s the power release component.
It’ll be good for what it is.
Agree, If you look at most muscle car small block dyno numbers there all basically in the 330-360 hp with 350-390 lbs-ft which is within the 318's wheelhouse without having to turn too many rpm's.And there isn't anything wrong with a 350 horse small block under the hood of our old cars.
Picking domes seems like their limiting themselves to open chamber heads.I see they have heads with the AIR ports in them. 302's may be? It will be interesting what heads they use throughout the builds.
Diamond abrasives+.030 with a hone and not a boring bar?
Interesting

I forgot how much they overbored the cylinder. I was hoping for a 060 over bore.No problem getting there, it's only about 18 cu in less than a 340. Haven't seen the episode on TV yet.
Just .030 with a hone.I forgot how much they overbored the cylinder. I was hoping for a 060 over bore.
.090 would have been awesome. If possible.
LOL
Don't forget the 4 barrel 273's. Domed pistons (crude design) with closed chamber heads.Picking domes seems like their limiting themselves to open chamber heads.
