Ok so who's up on this stuff? I need some help.
I have been researching this a bit, and it seems like the MON test is a more stringent test on the same RON fuel. Then the two NUMBERS are averaged to get the R+M/2, But it's still the exact same fuel, just with a new lower ant-knock index.

Can anybody verify this or shed light on it.

Bottom line is, I want to know how much cylinder pressure I can safely run in a DD, a Magnum 360 with EQ heads ......on 95RON gas. And yes I want to push the envelope.

AJ, all I can say is here in NY, my ‘03, 5.9 runs very well on 89. Not so much on the 87. The 93 does t make a noticeable difference.

600 carb on top of a rpm and hooker super comps headers, 2-1/2 exhaust. Chrome box fires MP distributor. Stock plugs.

Shamefully I see the pump very often and couldn’t tell you how the heck we rate the fuel or if it is even listed both ways.
