My fellow Europeans, it seems a shame to have our own board and not make more use of it :-(

So to jump-start the conversation, I am asking quite literally: where are you? Where in Europe do you live? What is your A-body pride and joy?

Hi there! Are you are doing the all the restoration yourself?

Hi! I can not do a complete restoration. Body work and painting will do skilled body-builders. I will make easier work - assembling the interior and trim parts. Suspension and brakes - what will be easy, I do it myself. What will be hard make my friend - a mechanic.

You have a very nice car.

I'm from Hamburg / Germany, and I own a 1974 Dart Swinger...

I bought the car as my first US-car and was shocked about the bondo that's been done by owners before.

Now the Dart is in a friends garage in Wroclaw / Poland, they do a complete restoration.

Dart is not my first U.S. car, but it's my first historical car.
I do not have money for complete professional renovation. I do something myself, something help friends...

My car is currently at a mechanic more than 250 kilometers away(http://www.helsans.se). He will go through the entire engine. He´s talking about some +300 HP when ready. He will also replace the rear axle from 7 1/4 sbp to 8 3/4 spb (lucky me, rims are expensive;-)). And the gearbox will obviously be gone through as well. It will be finished by next spring

Hi,
I’m living outside Gothenburg, Sweden
The car is ’63 Dart and it’s my second one, the first where sold ’75.
I bought the “new” Dart June 9 2009, and have been driven it since. Winter is quality time in the work shop for me. Last winter I swapped the rear end to an 8 ¾ SG with sbp and also put in a B&M shifter. The car have 273 engine with a 340 cam, high comp pistons, Edelbrock two plain intake, 600 cfm carb and headers. The brakes are discs in the front and 10” drums in the rear. New interior and new paint.

Both very nice cars, but I'm afraid I have a bias towards the 67 Valiant :grin: I read somewhere that they were used as police cars in Sweden?

Also I gathered that the American car scene is very active in your country.

That´s correct.

Thanks for these photos: I am always amazed as I would have thought there were at the time many European cars more suited for police duty, especially with the kind of winter weather (maybe wrongly?) associated with Sweden!

On the second photo there is also a 60 or 61 Valiant in the background...

I have two early a-body Mopars:

'65 Dart, which is still under construction to become a Historic road racer. Currently it is already mechanically according to the '66 FIA homologations (as used in Trans Am series), but externally it requires still the same update.

Another one is an all original Barracuda '65.

Im living in Finland. Bought an empty shell of 67 Dart about 3 years ago. I had 74 v8 Dart for spare parts. Did everything by my self. Welding, electrics, trans., engine etc.

I contribute some photos of my car, a 1975 Plymouth Valiant Custom 4-door, which I purchased from a breaker's yard in Ornex, France for € 450. My son found the car one day on his way home from school. It cost me € 452 to immatriculate the car because of the engine size (3.7l slant-6).

I've changed the front and rear suspensions to a coil-over damper system purchased from "Control Freak Suspensions", based near Orlando, FL. The car has 4-wheel disc brakes from Wilwood and a servo-assisted rack and pinion steering as well as a "Strange Engineering" limited-slip differential. This has transformed the ride and handling significantly.

I've also tuned the original slant-6 engine. Most of the parts for the engine came from Australia. I purchased an equal-length runner intake manifold from AussieSpeed, and a tuned cylinder head (ported, polished and gas-flowed, with larger valves and dual valve springs), as well a tubular exhaust collector from "Hemi Performance". High-compression pistons, connecting rods and mild racing camshaft came from "Campbell Enterprises". Most other parts came from "Summit Racing", a company that provides good customer service and support to European customers. Fuel management is provided by an Edelbrock 600cfm 4-barrel.

The wheels are American Racing Salt Flats (7 x 17 front and 10.5 x 17 rear) with Pirelli P-Zero Assimetrco tyres (245/45 YR 17-s front and 285/40 YR17-s rear).

The interior is redone in leather and alcantara by a professional saddler, developing a design I found on a Challenger.

My son and I spent over a year planning this project and the building took 22 months. We still have some development to do. I have the racing ignition system ready to install and plan to add a Smith's competition radiator, a 100-amp alternator and, perhaps later, an engine-oil cooler as well (provided it fits). The right rear suspension settings must also be adjusted.

I'm Nathan from Holland and I've got a '73 scamp.
I'm doing a complete restauration and hope to be finished next year may, so I can enjoy it in the summer.
At the moment the car is completely stripped and I'm preparing to replace some floorparts. When I made enough progress I'll post some pictures.
