Exhaust through torsion bar openings?

Has anyone with a torsion bar eliminated suspension (HDK etc) cut out the torsion bar opening housings, reinforced the frame crossmember with a three inch tube to run exhaust through it? Pros…cons? Just kind of occurred to me. More clearance.

Couple of different thoughts..

1, you are moving the exhaust close to the floorboard.
2 ,You will definitely have to do adequate rein forcing of that cross member

Rattling, heat, and reinforcement, all possible to overcome just how much work do you want?

Still considering power and trans. Possible 4l60. So if I have work to do anyways….

Use mandrel bent down pipes clock them to fit and weld here is 3 1/2 passing through.

unless you are running factory manifolds you aren’t gaining any ground clearance doing that.
