I have a 66 Barracuda with a 273. No AC, little four blade fan.

Today while tinkering and hitting a standstill with the carb I pulled the fan and spacer as put on a five blade with an Eaton thermostatic clutch. Fit the pulley fine, bolts to the water pump fine. Was almost happy....

Till I spun it by hand and noticed the fan blades contact my upper radiator hose and neck. Not bad, but not enough I'm gonna run it.

So I ditched that and put on a five blade fixed fan from a 68 318 block I have. Still a little irritated though.

What are some factory clutch fan options that fit or is there a radiator that bolts in that puts the upper neck off to the side?

Would appreciate any input. The clutch fan I had was from a 88 318 from a Dodge truck. I also had a 7 blade from a 440 that fit the clutch!!! But it was the same diameter as the five blader.

..........If u get the fan that originally came on the 340s which had a declutching fan they will work 4 u .........kim.......

Or you can trim off an equal amount on all of the blades until it clears good, just make sure you trim the same on all so you don't throw the fan off balance.
