need some fender u nuts for my demon resto. Being north or the border i really do not want to have $120+with shipping into $20 worth of nuts. anybody have a part number that i can try to source locally? or even a correct size?

The last time I needed some I got them off of Amazon. You might be able to buy them through automotive shops or through Dorman Help even at Canadian Tire or NAPA. You used to see them in the bins but that is less common now. I did buy a set specifically for my fenders from Classic Industries because they came with proper bolts and had the nuts with the integral washers. You should be able to get them from National Moparts too.

As I noted, Part Source has "old school" bins. Only store left doing so it seems... our NAPA hasn't had them for over a decade.
You are lucky. The ones around here have reduced their bins down considerably from what they used to carry.

No hardware store or auto parts store carries the correct type. The correct Mopar style has a much larger, rounded surface. They are available from Restoration Specialties in Windber Penn, or from R/T Specialties, or find a dealer for AMK products.

My Napa here in CT has them in red and clear bags hanging from a turn style right near the universal window cranks and hardware. They also have a catalog you can look up by dimensions- not by make and model. You need to be a detective some times and stop relying on internet. In other words Napa can get them if they don’t have them in stock.
Aveco is also another hardware supplier to the shops with the countless draws full of supplies sold to smaller shops. They have an on line catalog and will sell direct to the public. Worth is another you see in the tv car shows a lot with the orange red like displays.

More ways to skin this cat for ya.
Good luck.
Amazon is also another way- eBay as well. Measurements and sizes for those bags of 50 or 100 is your friend. Sometimes the bag of 50 with the bolts are cheaper than 10 at Napa I’ve found.
It’s nice because they are used through the car in other places.

Put a want ad on here in the classified section.

I put all my nuts & bolts in a plastic mayonnaise jar with mineral spirits, broken glass, a few short drywall screws & other scraps and leave them in a rock tumbler for a few days. Sometimes have to put more stuff in there so the jar doesn't just spin around while the stuff sits still. I added a few bent pieces of sheet metal to help "stir" things up. Come out almost new looking. Might then need a 2nd go-round with either paint stripper, spirits again, or phosphoric acid depending on what ails you.
ALSO- If you use broken glass, give everything a second go but without any glass to get all the little glass grit out of the threads. I mated another nut or bolt to everything before and after to be sure.

Its also good for mixing natural Peanut Butter. Stab a few holes down through the settled stuff so the oil can get down there, and let it turn overnight.
I run spray paint cans on there too.
