So I've been getting the drag racing itch and can't wait for the tracks to open this year. I know some already have, but we're still getting rain/weather. These weren't my best, as i clicked off some 10.40's at the mopar nats in columbus, but Quaker is usually a tad slower. Just though I'd share a few I dug up as i was cleaning out a drawer!

Its a 408 with a billet solid roller cam. 259/257 @50 108sep gross lift .670 / 634
icon forged pistons. 12.5:1
ported mopar performance alum "super commando" heads that i have WAYYY too much time and $ in
1050 4150 carb, HRS roller rockers, victor intake, hussler headers, BluePrint Engines Igniton box and Distributor.
elec water pump, tuff stuff alternator.
Engine made 608 on the Dyno.

car itself is a 74 dart swinger. 727 MVB, ATI 8 inch converter. no trans brake. 8.75. 3.91's 10.5 tires.
8 point cage, and racing buckets. other than that, full interior.

wilwood brakes, weld wheels, fuel cell, aeromotive fuel system.

i could go on and on but remembering the $ that I spent from 16 years old to present day is making my eyes water.lol

The car has probably had everything in/on it changed 5-6 times since i bought it. Much like most of us, it had the best that i could afford at that moment, and was probably changed out in the pursuit of speed the next time i had a spare nickel to my name.

thanks for asking! I'm usually too wrapped up in racing, or working, to honestly think back and "enjoy" the car, or talk about it. Its a real labor of love, and I hope some of you guys think its cool i'm right there with ya, turning wrenches and burning tires!

Spent the night looking for a new sfi helmet and making sure my 5 point is still legal. Got the itch for sure!!

It was put together long before I came over to BluePrint Lol. Its wearing BluePrint wires, distributor, starter, ignition box. So it's trying

now that racing season is almost over... I figure i'll post my best to date from my local track. I think i clicked of a 10.40 in Columbus, but can't find it...so 10.44 @ 126 is the new confirmed best. not too shabby for a small tire streetcar with a smallblock and no trans brake!

Currently superstock springs with a spring relocation. unclamped rears. equipped with a pinion snubber thats beating its way through the floor. 8.75. with drums still. factory suregrip.

contemplating everything from a back half, to caltracks this off season. It has the bar type frame connectors, but they aren't through the floor. Trunk has started slamming a little harder...I'm dreading the day the doors start slamming back open. Already had to stainless screw the vinyl trim on, as it flexes enough to pop off.

Well, I was gonna say it but you just said it.
It might be time for a cage to keep it right because your really getting there. While the rules may so no cage needed or more than what you have, the extra stiffness would be a plus on a few fronts.

The Cal Tracks are good and the Assassin bars are also on the same line that seem to have a slightly better rep. Or more liked over the Cal’s.
But I have not tried the Assassin bars. I have Yet to install my Cal Tracks. I’d also suggest sliders on the rear of the springs. Your doing pretty good there.

6 point cage already. but yeah, time for some more reinforcement for sure.

it hooks just fine. Pulls the wheels in fact. And i cut my 110 with 93. so shush!
