Progress has been slim to none lately. Knee surgery last month, bad back, the usual issues from “I didn’t plan to live this long” and not taking care of myself.

Anywho. Finally got an intake pipe whipped up, modified the charge pipe (thanks again @TT5.9mag for the spool gun lessons). Getting closer to being able to get in (and out) of the car so hopefully I can at least cruise it around soon.

How do you like the spool gun vs tig or was it because you haven’t mastered tig? No pun intended , I haven’t mastered tig and was thinking of buying a spool gun. Thanks jesse

I’ve never tigged a day in my life unfortunately. Thankfully I’ve had more help than I can count with this car so any tig work wasn’t from me. The spool gun was a good time, definitely need a LOT more time on one to even have a clue as to what I’m doing. I learned how to fill a hole and make a hole all on the same seam though

No shoes ! wtf ? Giant nards dudes lol.
I will be trying to get myself a spool gun here pretty soon. Tig'n as much rod as I do, id love to burn through some spools instead.

Well I paid to take a tig welding class, teacher was getting irritated that I kept touching my tungsten to the weld. So I thought I just sucked . As I started mig weld at home realized I was just getting bad vision needed to get the old spectacles. What a difference that made. lol

It’s either flip flops or one wrench flung in your direction every thirteen minutes at casa de @TT5.9mag

He has good aim and a mean curveball…curve wrench? Pick your poison.

While I don’t completely trust it yet, it didn’t over heat on an 80° day like it used to do. Once again @TT5.9mag was correct. The intake tube appears to have fixed the cooling issue. Hottest I got the car was 176° after beating on it a few times taking my brother for a ride, then letting it hang out and idle in the driveway while organizing the garage. It’s gotten hotter than that many times with less driving on a cooler day. Need to retest it to make sure but over all I’m satisfied.

Right or wrong the test was a valid one and I’m just glad you’re out driving it.
