That's exactly what I am thinking!
excellent. I'll look into that. thank you.
I've actually already downloaded that. The photos are murky on the scans in the PDF, so I might buy a copy down the line. Do you know if the printed version has better photos or is it just the old photo reproduction quality was lousy even at the time?
lol. Thank you, and thank you...
Thank you sir. RE: "this thread is useless without photos"-- I totally agree. I got a little excited after the purchase and jumped right in. But I wish I had taken my own photos when I picked up the title. Then I'd have started off on a better foot. As soon as I hear from the seller, I'll post the photos I do have, which are technically his (and I want to make sure he's ok with me using them).
Though we love seeing photos of new members’ car, we are just kidding you. We want your back surgery to be smooth and completely successful. Just focus on that for now and we can wait for photos. I bought my red Dart from a fellow FABO friend (@fratzog lover ) under the condition that he hold it for me for a while. The “while” turned out to be about 3 years, when he and his wife moved out of NJ. Hopefully, they’ll be able to buy it back and take it to Alabama. In the mean time, I will enjoy it here in NJ! @Aceadman Please let us know how your surgery goes! We’ll be praying for you.
Very much obliged for the wishes. Teasing or otherwise, you ARE right. If I’m gonna go all “look at me!” I should have the goods to show. Lol. I’m really psyched that the forums seem so active and interested and people even CARE to see the car, because as I posted initially—despite my age—I’m utterly green here. I’m gonna really appreciate that interest when I actually have the Dart and start working on it. Personally, I think the car is pretty darn decent. And I’m very curious to know what other, much more knowledgeable, people think. But… now I’M the one teasing… with no photos….yet…. And btw: your red dart is beautiful. That red POPS!
OK. So this is what I have photowise. As soon as I get the car in my possession, I'll make a garage album and flesh it out. In the meantime...let me know how crazy I am.
Looks pretty solid from those pics. Nice color combo too.
Thx. I love the blue. It's got a repaint that's iffy-- and I'll redo that eventually-- but it'll stay blue. And the vinyl top is in good shape. No splits or bubbles. A little loose right above the trunk where it could be hiding some rust under there. We shall see...
I've downloaded the factory service manual several times. It does have its uses but you are correct. The photos and text can be fuzzy. Perhaps this is just me, but I far prefer a printed book to reading on a computer. I have several reproduction manuals from Faxon. They aren't cheap, but they also aren't outrageous either. This is an excellent resource for working on your car. For rebuilding a slant I highly recommend Doug Dutra's book. You can find it easily on Amazon. Sweet looking ride, BTW!
Looks pretty slick to me!!!
I like it! You're going to have a lot of fun with that one!
I already have the Dutra book! It came in the mail a few days ago. And it DOES seem like an excellent resource. Thank you for confirming that!
Love it! And welcome. Always good when it's a good color to start! Anytime I find a cherry like that it's mustard yellow lol
