I finally got some time to take a few photos of my Cuda and to those that wanted to know more about it, here it is.

This was my first car that I got when I was 16 I tore it down shortly after I turned 18 to do body work and chassis work but with other cars, projects, girlfriends and then a wife and kids, I didn’t get it back together till this spring.

It is a 65 with a 416 stroker, 578 roller cam, 671 BDS blower, 750 Demon blower carbs, A-833 4 gear, 9” Ford rear with coil over shocks and ladder bars and 4:56’s The M/T 18.50 tires are tucked under widened stock wheel houses and I used as much of the stock floor pan as I could. I need to do a few more things to the interior but I tried to make the interior as stock looking as I could, I even have the rear seat which does still fold down even with the tubs. I have the top half out at the moment to finish the upholstery and I need to finish buffing the stainless trim. The body is painted the original med red poly and has all of the original trim to keep the original look of the Barracuda. I filled the original hood hinge openings to keep the engine compartment looking clean since I am running a fiberglass hood.

All I can say is, "WOW!" That is one nice fish. How long have you been working on that project. Did you do the work yourself?

    Thank You!

I’ve owned the car 27 years but the work got done off and on over the last 25, I didn’t get serious with it until the last 4-5 years. I did all the work myself except I had the rear end done by a local guy that built Gliddens cars in the mid 80’s and I had a friend spray it since I don’t have a paint booth but I did all the body work myself.

The speakers do seem funny, I don’t even have a radio in it yet but I go to a lot of car cruises and shows and a radio is a must at the shows when the wife and kids go.

My knees are still shaking, Great feeling when you do all the work your self. Give yourself a pat on the back.

It will be there, weather permitting.

The back seat was a must, it would look incomplete without one. It took some thought and a lot of fab work to keep the full width and still be able to fold it down though. I just need to finish sewing the vinyl back together and buff the cargo trim before I can reinstall the top half.

I would say that the years of waiting and working paid off in all the right ways. Excellent work and a beautiful car.
