Finally out of paint jail!

I was limited with my choices since I didn't want to cut anything up in the vert for the speakers. But the sub really does add that depth.

I have one in my truck. A Blaupunkt thb210A. All I have in it is the sub and a 6.5" speaker in each door. Sound really good.....BUT the sub overpowers the door speakers if I push the volume, so I have a small Kicker amp to put on the door speakers. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Been working on a bunch of the smaller things. Should be ready to fire her up and break in the engine tomorrow, so decided that the modified stock radio just didn't have what i need, I decided to put a new one in the glove of area. I think the PO spent about $500 having the stock radio restored and upgraded, but without Bluetooth or even fade control..... the decision was easy.

Orig radiator was leaking so got a champion 2 core, now I need to get a shorter fan spacer! 1/4 inch to the radiator is way too close!

1 step forward, 2 steps back, looks like my 273 is a hybrid, burns both gas and coolant! Hopefully just a head gasket problem, engine was rebuilt by PO. It was broke in and was running fine, then started blowing a little white smoke on the passenger side, then next time I started it a little more, then last night I swapped out to a 600cfm holley and it was smoke alot more, it was colder last night, but never went away, car never overheated. So pulled plugs on the passenger side and bingo! It the orig engine so hopefully its nothing like a cracked block. There is a little water in the oil, but not a ton, small spots of froth here and there when I pulled the intake. In the pic, the piston is at TDC, i did take the shop vac and vacuumed it out.

Yeah, I think I'd be pulling the heads & checking the gaskets, I had the same problem years ago with a PO built 273 & it turned out the heads were never torqued properly.

after a long 10 months I finally got my 64 vert back! Now to start putting it all back together and trying to figure out how much more I have to spend for all the little things that are always missing that add up! Now I have something to do when I get home from work for awhile!

You have given me hope that someday I have my car returned! 14 months so far

Well, we gave it all a good look over, decided to roll the dice and replace the headgasket. We cleaned everything up and put her all back together. We did a compression test and #6 was at 32psi! Crap! After a few minutes of scratching our heads in unbelief, we checked the valve lash, Bingo! So we went thru all of them and had to cold lash them for now, but many on both sides were too tight. Another compression check and it came out good. So now just waiting for my exhaust gasket to arrive on Tuesday to finish it up and try again.
