An A-body friend of mine passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. His widow wants to drive his 67 Dart to local shows and such, but he had manual steering on it and she can't handle that very well. We located a whole power steering set up for her, but what she doesn't have is the shorter shaft for the steering column. Can anybody describe how to identify a 67-69 shaft (as opposed to earlier or later), and does anybody know how long a 67 power steering shaft is?

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

The power steering shaft is 37.5” in length end to end without coupler and the
manual shaft is 40 5/8”. Starting in 70’ the key moved to the column so these
shafts have a cross pin in the upper portion for the steering wheel lock plate.
67’ was the first year for the collapsible column so the 67-69 should be easily identified.

You might want to run a parts wanted ad. Someone here might be considering doing the opposite swap and you may be able to just trade parts.
