One of the wing nuts on my old faithful double flare tool (K-D Tools 2199) broke. Does anyone happen to know where I may be able to find another one? Apparently K-D tools is no longer around, but I'm curious if there may be a generic source for these huge wing nuts. Thread is 5/16-18.

i replaced mine with a regular nut and just used a wrench
Better than the wing nut anyway. Everybody uses pliers or a screwdriver on the wing nut to get it tight. That's why they break.

i used channel locks, still took 20 years for it to break though

Thanks guys. I'm using a nut now, which works perfectly, but figured I see if there's a source for these large wing nuts.

I've made wing nuts out of the long "connector nuts." (coupling nut) Weld / braze a piece of rod/ bolt across the top and you have a wing nut.......with a hex.........
