Flat Tappets & their lube

-
I just don’t like getting the stuff on my gloves. And it ends up all over everything. I end up looking like pigpen.

Especially if I’m using the black stuff.

Then it gets in the house, the old lady goes psycho because I get a smudge on a towel.

Then I have to stop and super clean the towels and that irritates me.

So I use a brush.
oh, i see you've met my friends hylomar and copper hi-temp brake paste.

pro tip: buy darker towels. ;D

If you didn't get the lifters refaced, even if new, its probably not going to make any difference what lube you choose. But hopefully you have zero problems
Well, we're gonna find out tomorrow how the truck motor does. Pray for me. lol

If you had the lifters refaced and then checked everything well, this would be a good test mule for a new flat tappet first start up thread. This will be interesting.

I am hoping it works perfectly for you this time around. I have a solid flat tappet I have been too scared to run. I want to send the new lifters to NC Engine Builder for resurfacing. Just need to man up and do it.

I did. I had a brand new set of lifters refaced. Sean (@NC Engine Builder) did it for me. Lifters were spinning just sitting on the camshaft. I appreciate the well wishes. I'm scared to death. But whatever the outcome, I'm gonna deal with it.
