I am now convinced Flowmaster mufflers are one of the top mufflers out there.

Did a customer job on a Ford pick-up with a 460.

The original exhaust was pretty much a single 3.5 inch system. Problem is the cat was plugged solid and this truck couldn't catch a breath going downhill with someone pushing.

To diagnose I cut a "window" in the pipe before the cat and it ran great but very loud.
Then I tried to locate an exhaust kit that would displace the cat because we do not E test here nor anywhere near here. No luck, the aftermarket only seems to have cat back set ups which does not help my problem.

So I ordered a pair of flowmaster 50 series delta flow mufflers and set out to build my own system since it was mostly straight pipe. Good thing about a great big truck is I didn't have to lift it up because anyone can fit under it.

I welded the two mufflers together and then welded a tab on the back so I can use the factory hangers.

Sounds great!! a little louder than advertised but when you roll up the windows the drone is minimal as advertised. On the outside of the truck it is a bit louder than I expected.

The mufflers are great quality and the pair welded together made it really heavy (not heavier than the stock parts tho)

All in all, me and the customer are very happy and now I know what these mufflers sound like and cant wait to put some on my next mopar :) :)

BTW: Welding upside down while laying under it is totally horrible. :(

that's exactly what I did to my Dodge ram , only I used 2 1/2" thrush 3 chamber welded case mufflers and they sound great.

Wow! How did I miss this?!

Nice job there. And I agree, welding on my back is not in my happy zone.

Always but always run what makes music to YOUR ears. Otherwise, go for the most flow.
