i am the victim of it. i use a credit union for banking. the have a pledged amount, it is for when you use your debit/visa card as a charge card. the trans. becomes a pledge when you sign it, which more or less puts a lock on the money until the transaction clears. i had a pledge for an amount that i had no idea what it was for. contacted the credit union, only thing they could tell me was the name associated with the pledge, no phone number was available with this name. was told by the credit union that they could not stop this transaction, they had to let it process and then i would need to contact the company that made the charge. i called this company this morning, and was told by them because the transaction was processed they could not help me, i needed to contact them before it cleared my account. explained why i could not, and all i go tfrom them was to contact the credit unions fraud dept. talk about a circle jerk. so i filled out the paper work from my credit union and now have to wait who the hell knows how long. and now i no longer have a debit card til the midle of next month, aint this great...
