front marker lens interchangable with rear?

are the front and rear side marker light the same except for the lens? Can you change the lenses? In other words, if I have a front marker light that is bad, and an extra rear, can i just switch the lenses?

The lenses are a molded 1 piece unit and do not come apart.You have the red or amber color,and have a peanut bulb socket of rubber that twists into place.These are interchangable from many years and can be found at bone yards and auto parts as well,Mrmopartech
