I'm having holy hell trying to get the passenger side quarter window linkage to operate correctly. I had everything out to clean, replace necessary parts and lubricate. Everything is finally back inside the cavity and all rollers, regulator, guides, etc. are in place. The problem is that when I roll the window all the way down, there doesn't seem to be a firm stop at the bottom position. The crank just starts to bind a little bit, but doesn't stop to keep you from rolling down too far. When it goes down too far, the small white roller that moves in the slide that is welded to the interior panel moves too far to the front of the car and pops out of its slide.
I know there are physical up-stop brackets that keep you from rolling up too far, but I don't see anything that stops it at the bottom
The regulator on the driver side works great. It rolls down, and when it gets to a certain point, there is a firm stop that doesn't allow you to continue cranking on the window. I still don't see what is stopping it in the correct final down position though. Is there supposed to be something in the regulator gear that does that? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This is about where the regulator gear should stop (or maybe just a tad further), based on the way the driver side works.
And this is about where the white roller should be when the regulator gear stops.
But, when the crank doesn't stop where it should, it allows the white roller to pop out of its track like this. Then, of course, the window won't roll back up because this roller is out of its track.
