Tonight the starter circuit went bad left me stranded until I jumped the starter to get going. Then on the way to the gym she developed this loud tapping noise in the rear. If I hold my ears closed she drives fine just like any other day. Am I right to think the fuel pump is the only thing back there to make the noise? I ruled out the vert pump.

I won't have time to check her I UT in the next few days. Looking to get a jump on parts if needed.

Maybe the pump is just loose. IIRC the pump is external?

Thanks in advance!

Couple things, what you driving and most pumps are engine mounted.
Noise coming from rear,a tapping sound could be a fuel pump.
Best to check if it has a pump in the rear or try to isolate the noise.

sheesh that would help. 63 dart convertible /6. when doing the rear brake lines I recall seeing something brass tubular and newish mounted to the right inside frame. I never took the time to investigate.

funny you say, I was wondering what that brass thing was next to the engine attached to the fuel line

redfish....she won't listen!
