I noticed that there is 2 gallon difference between the 69 to 72 gas tank.
This is a general question; Are there any other differences?

Would a 69 gas tank work in a 72?

They seem to have the same floor design and space. Is the filler neck different?

We are starting from scratch so anything is possible.

I think they are different? Go to www.spectrapremium.com to make sure..

From what I can tell the filler neck is in a slightly different position. Will have to see if a new fabricated neck can be fitted.

I think the gas tanks are pretty darn cheap? I bought one for my 69 Swinger & even in Cdn funds it wasn't bad. Worth a look anyway. Cheers.

FWIW, I would guess that the reason for the change is emissions related. I don't know how that affected it physically.
