Really hard to see good. Too lit up. Try taking pics with no flash so the pattern will stand out more. Need to see the coast side too
Looks like it might be too shallow, but as said it's difficult to tell.

742 case 3.23 used gear set I traded for. Pinion and carrier preload set, BL set at .008
I think the pinion is shallow but I'm no expert at this. If it's to shallow, any guess how much I need to move it up?

Looking at it closely, I think maybe the pinion needs to go away from the ring gear just a touch more.
I don't know why I first wrote into the ring gear.....I knew damn well what I was thinking and something else got typed. LOL

Thanks Rusty for the advice. I also emailed these pics to Cass, Doctor Diff and had a reply within 10 minutes. I buy all my axle parts from him. Best quality, prices and super customer support!
