glove box door lock removal.. how???

how the hell does this thing come out with out breaking it.. looking at the service manual is of no help. i'm not seeing what they say is supposed to be there. any ideas guys?

damn.. now why doesn't the service say that? lol.. that wood grain is a pain in the ***. hopefully i don't bust it up doing this..
